This tale may be truth, or it may be a fable. But it is certainly a legend. A legend the people of Tal’gorr have told one another since ancient times. The Legend of the Four Guardians of Sionareth.
It comes from an age when Sionareth was still young and the mists of Tal’gorr were wild. Its forests were deep and full of beasts, its lakes and rivers teeming with fish, and the world itself was only just learning how to breathe.
It was a time when the world changed quickly, when echoes were born on their own, and when the mist touched the ground differently than it does today.
And it was in those days that they first appeared — four lights, four forces, four guardians who watched over young Sionareth when it did not yet know how long its own breath would last.
They did not sleep on the surface, where any traveler might see them. They settled deep beneath the northern ridge of Nyokap, in the place where two mists meet but never mix. In a dark hall where even time itself holds its breath.
🌞 Kaelor — the Yellow Guardian of Beginnings
Born of light, the first breath of day. His radiance is sharp, creative, awakening. When he appears, the world draws a new breath.
🔴 Vaelor — the Red Guardian of Endings
The light that closes the circle. It dissolves boundaries and lays things to rest. It is the calm after the storm, the final note of a song.
🔵 Veyra — the Blue Guardian of Memory
The moon that hears echoes. Her light is cold yet deep — carrying the memory of the world. When she appears, the air begins to repeat what was once forgotten.
⚪ Keth — the White Guardian of Change
The moon that passes through Veyra. His light is pure but never still — the pulse of reality. When he appears, the world breaks for a moment, only to join again anew.
They stood together in a silent circle, holding the balance. But they knew their circle was incomplete. That sky, sea, warmth, and memory were not enough without the one who carried the imprint of the earth itself and the consciousness of humankind.
And so a space remained at their center. An empty shadow beneath the stone, where there was no light and no sound.
“They are there, waiting,” the elders of Tal’gorr would say when clouds gathered over Nyokap and the Esh’thar crystals began to hum softly in the night. “They wait for the fifth. When the one whose dust the earth accepts and whose step can halt time finally arrives, the circle will close.”
Bipilon’s Note
“Four guardians beneath Nyokap? Sure. The world always hides its most important things exactly where no one wants to climb.”
