In Thalgorrin, just a few steps from the city park, there is a street that would be entirely ordinary — if it didn’t contain an Auren. The locals don’t call it anything else but Auren Street.
The Auren stands — or rather floats — in a narrow gap between two houses, and it has been there for so long that no one truly remembers when it appeared. Everyone, however, is convinced that it is older than the city built around it.
It has the form of a metal cube, just under one foot across, with faintly glowing cracks along its sides. It hovers about two feet above the ground, silent, unwilling, and perfectly motionless.

press it into the ground.
The Auren ignored all of these attempts. It didn’t resist. It didn’t defend itself. It simply… refused to cooperate and had no intention of being anywhere else.

One family once decided to build their home around the Auren. Not out of disrespect — more out of the belief that “if it bothers no one, why not.”

Not the Auren. The Gorraths.
The people of Thalgorrin opposed the idea. Not because they were superstitious, but because they understood that some things in the city belong to everyone, not to individuals. The Auren is one of them.
The city council acted quickly: the Auren was declared an official city landmark.
Since then, people walk past it quietly, with respect — as if passing something the city has accepted and does not wish to lose.
